First Edition of UHC’s Equine Lifeline Newsletter

Welcome to the first edition of UHC’s “Lifeline” newsletter!

Our goal is to bring you the latest insights and in-depth coverage of news and resources to help horse owners in need. There is a lot of information, on lots of platforms, some valuable, some misleading – Lifeline will cut through the clutter. We’ll do the homework of sifting through research, data, and resources, publishing only the most relavent, verified, and useful updates pertaining to horses at risk and in transition. UHC will also bring you new and relavent educational content, all free to the public.

Coming soon—a live chatbot to assist you! Thanks to a grant from the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), we are developing an interactive tool that will provide real-time responses, support, and information to horse owners in need.

Lifeline will be published on a quarterly basis.  We’d love to hear what you think! Contact us and let us know.

The UHC was created in 2005 to address welfare concerns regarding “unwanted” (now termed “at-risk”) horses during the economic downturn. Its mission is clear: “Through industry collaboration, the UHC promotes education and options for at-risk and transitioning horses.”

Twenty years later, our organization is paving a better way to prevent horses from becoming at risk by addressing the root causes of relinquishment through education, resources, and industry collaboration. By providing horse owners with essential tools, research insights, and a vast support network, UHC works proactively to keep horses safe, ensuring they remain in loving homes, or if necessary, helping to rehome them responsibly.

We invite you to join the UHC family, which includes responsible horse owners, rescues, sanctuaries, industry partners, and others who are #HereForHorseOwners.
