The United Horse Coalition launches new software for its UHC Equine Resource Database and Member Portal Area.

As part of our ongoing commitment to providing resources and bridging the gap between horse owners in need of safety net programs or assistance transition, and the equine organizations working to support them, the United Horse Coalition has recently upgraded its customer relation management software to an association management software called Memberclicks.  Included in this software is a new and improved version of the UHC’s Equine Resource Database (UHCERD) and directory to help better serve horse owners in need of safety net programs and assistance programs nationwide, as well as UHC’s own members.

Part of this new software includes a “Members Only Portal” where UHC Members can now have an easier way to update their contact information, as well as the safety net services offered in the UHC Equine Resource Database/directory.   This is critical to ensuring that horse owners have the most up-to-date, and correct information when searching for safety net programs, assistance programs, and rescues to help them in their time of need.

Members will also be able to view and pay their renewal invoices online (or print out an invoice to mail to the office.)  Included in the UHC Member Portal is a calendar of events, the ability to upload your organizations logo to the UHCERD Directory, access UHC Committees, and any member benefits.

UHC Members and any rescue or sanctuary nationwide who has contributed their information to the UHC Equine Resource Database will be able to list the safety net services or assistance programs they offer in the directory for free, as well as any affiliations and accreditations they hold which will be denoted by specific icons in the UHCERD Directory.  Information contained in the UHCERD directory is continually audited and all changes or updates made by those organizations to the information contained in the UHCERD are approved in advance before going live in the directory.

“We hope this software will allow for a more streamlined way to get these much-needed resources into the hands of the horse owners who need help, while also giving rescues and sanctuaries and the various other organizations who offer assistance programs a platform to share the services they provide.”  Says Ashley Harkins, UHC Director.

The United Horse Coalition is a broad alliance of equine organizations that have joined together under the American Horse Council to educate the horse industry about the issues facing horses at-risk or in transition. We seek to provide information for existing and prospective owners, breeders, sellers, and horse organizations regarding the long-term responsibilities of owning and caring for horses, as well as focusing on the opportunities available for these horses.
